About Amanda and Ioki

My amazing pit-bull came into my life in April of 2009 after she was abandoned.  A really good friend of mine brought her to me that night, and we have been best friends ever since!   Ioki (pronounced eye-oh-key) is the sweetest and silliest creature I have ever met!  She has helped me through some really hard times, and has given me some of the best moments of my life! Ioki’s favorite thing to do is to be cuddled!  She loves being held and gives lots of kisses!  She also loves to chase her ball, and watch “Pit Boss” on Animal Planet. I am so happy to have rescued her and to have her in my life – she brings me a lot of joy. I know she is grateful in return, and always wears her big “pit-bull smile” on her face!

About Mohawk

Mohawk is a beautiful and intelligent potbellied pig who came to Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary from the Northern California Potbellied Pig Rescue. As a young pig, Mohawk was severely mauled by dogs and taken to a nearby city shelter.  At two years of age he came to live with Harvest Home in order to provide everyone with an endless amount of entertainment, excitement and love.  {he’s pretty adorable!}

Tim at Farm Sanctuary

About Tim

I met Tim at the Farm Sanctuary in July 2011, during my Boss Hogg Tour.  He and his mom were there and we took the farm tour together.  A gentle, loving soul.  He was kind enough to take some pictures of me with the piggies because I was there by myself {and  couldn’t take my own picture, LOL!}, so I returned the favor.  Here is Tim meeting Farm Sanctuary’s sleepy piggies.

Christian and Kitty

About Kitty

Being the runt of the group and taken away from her mom so early, Kitty is full of perseverance, loyalty, and love. I wasn’t aware or liked animals the way I do until she came into my life.  Now the thought of her not being in my life is saddening.  She’s moved me to be more compassionate, sensitive, and more aware of the feelings and needs of animals.  I can’t imagine a world where animals are kicked, slaughtered, mistreated, abused, and abandoned.  I am proud to say that I am apart of a movement that celebrates the safety ALL beings.

About Prince Charming

Prince Charming was ridden so hard his knees swelled and he could barely walk. He was then tied to the bumper of a car at a boarding stable and abandoned there. The owner of the stable dug a hole and was going to shoot him in the head when the Gentle Barn brought him home. After months of rehabilitation, Charming is now sound and spends his days playing with the other horses and flirting with the mares; he is quite the ladies man!
